This Skillbuilding class includes weekly videos, challenges, articles and info to deepen your practice of the Hand in Hand listening tools. The support group is for listening time and plenty of time for your questions. Each week we will also learn how to enhance your ability to make really effective use of listening partnerships and what to say to help others get to feelings.

Sessions will be responsive to the group’s needs and we may cover any of the following:

Week 1 – Staylistening intensive: Listening to two or more children at once, Staylistening to emotional projects, swearing, and talking back, When you can’t listen.

Week 2 – Helping children get along better: Sharing, property rights and fairness, saying sorry, name calling, working out conflict between friends and bullying. Supporting the sibling relationship. Special Time.

Week 3 – Lifting fear: working on sleep issues, separation anxiety, aggression, countering the disconnection from school/separations, working on rigidities, and picky eating.

Week 4 – Building co-operation and ease in the family: Co-operation with chores/homework, setting limits to get to feelings, adult special time, and family meetings.

Week 5 – Increasing joy and play: Accessing our playfulness, screens, family roughhousing games.

Week 6 – Building our resilience as parents: What to do when you are losing it, how to use a Parent Rescue Squad, partnering well as parents and grandparents, managing other’s opinions/ what they think of your parenting style.
